Police have arrested four persons in connection with the brutal murder of Money Changer Aaron Latchman and his 18-year-old daughter Arian.

Mr Latchman and his daughter were shot and killed during a robbery at their Better Hope home on the East Coast of Demerara on July 4.

The News Room has been reliably informed that one of the four persons arrested has been identified as ‘Rasta Man’ of Agricola on the East Bank of Demerara and East La Penitence, Georgetown.

A White 212 car was found in his possession and is registered to his brother. The Police are currently looking for his brother as it is believed that this is the car that was used to transport the gunmen from the crime scene.

The three other persons have been identified as ‘Marco’ from Parika, East Bank Essequibo; ‘Red Man’ from Dennis Street, Sophia and also of East La Penitence in Georgetown and ‘Julian’ of East Ruimveldt.

An early morning raid in Georgetown led to the arrest of the four men.

Mr Latchman plied his trade on America Street in Georgetown and was returning home at about 15:30hrs on July 5 when he was intercepted by two armed bandits who robbed and shot him.

Residents told the News Room that the man’s 18-year-old daughter Arian, who was a medical student, was home alone at the time and the father had just arrived when the robbery and shooting occurred.

Mr Latchman was shot three times – twice to the right shoulder and once to the left – while Arian was shot once to the chest resulting in their deaths.
