Guyana records 107 new COVID infections 180th total death

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday disclosed that another person has succumbed to COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a hospital, taking the country’s death toll to 180.

In a brief statement yesterday, the MoH informed that the latest COVID-19 casualty is an 86-year-old man from Region Four. The COVID-19 death toll has now risen to 180.

Meanwhile, the ministry’s COVID-19 dashboard revealed that 107 more cases were confirmed from the testing of 713 samples. It added that 68 of the new cases are from Region Seven, 29 from Region Four, 6 from Region Three, 2 from Region Two and 1 each from Region One and Region Eight.

The total number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 7,887.

The dashboard also revealed that there are 5 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 56 in institutional isolation, 746 in home isolation and 13 persons in institutional quarantine.
