Cuba reports 997 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths

Cuban health authorities reported 997 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours, totaling 51,587 patients since the outbreak of the disease last year.

The national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Durán, pointed out during his usual press conference that Cuba reached 328 deaths due to complications related to the disease since March 11, 2020.

He stated that 18,660 people remain in hospitals, including 2,833 suspected cases, 11,550 under surveillance and 4,277 active patients with the virus.

All 22 molecular biology laboratories in Cuba analyzed 17,577 real-time PCR tests to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

This result incrased the total number of tests performed in Cuba to 2,428,864.
