Guyana reports 76 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health yesterday confirmed 76 more COVID-19 cases from the latest available test results.

As a result, to date Guyana has recorded a total of 9,069 cases.

The additional cases were confirmed from the results of 853 samples that were tested.

According to the figures contained in the Ministry of Health COVID-19 dashboard that was released yesterday, Region Four accounted for 46 of the new cases. The only regions that did not record new cases were regions Six and Eight.

The dashboard also indicated that six persons were in the COVID Intensive Care Unit, 30 persons in institutional isolation, and 562 persons in home isolation. There were also 12 persons in institutional quarantine.

Up to yesterday the ministry reported 8,265 recoveries and a total of 206 deaths.
