Cuba confirms 689 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths

Cuban health authorities on Thursday reported 689 new Covid-19 cases, totaling 64,414 patients since the pandemic broke out in the country on March 11, 2020.

At his regular daily press conference on television, Dr. Francisco Garcia, national director of Epidemiology at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), lamented the deaths of four people over the last 24 hours, so the country’s death toll rose to 384 due to Covid-19.

He pointed out that 21,619 patients are in hospitals nationwide, including 3,681 suspected cases, 14,342 under epidemiology surveillance and 3,596 active cases.

Cuba’s molecular biology labs performed 19,537 PCR tests on Wednesday, totaling 2,730,305 such tests since March last year.
