Brazil: 4,195 one day record COVID-19 deaths

Brazil reported a new 4,195 daily record Covid-19 deaths in just 24 hours, bringing the total to 336,947, Brazil´s Ministry of Health reported.

The daily Covid-19 average death toll (in seven days) was 2,757, the world´s highest one.

Similarly, in the first six days of April, the accumulated death toll was 15,432.

The Health Ministry also indicated that 86,979 new infections were reported from Monday to Tuesday, bringing the total to 13,100,580.

Dr. Dimas Covas, director of Butantan Institute, forecast that Brazil might reach 5,000 daily Covid-19 deaths in coming days.

‘Next 15 days will be too dramatic. We have exceeded 2.000 (deaths per day), we have already passed 3,000, we are going to reach 4,000 and 5,000 as well’, Covas said in an lengthy interview published by the Valor Economico jounal.
