Cuba reports 6,009 Covid-19 cases and 51 deaths

Cuba on Tuesday reported 6,009 Covid-19 cases and 51 deaths due to complications from the disease over the past 24 hours.

At his daily briefing on television, the national director of Epidemiology at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Duran, said that 866,808 Covid-19 cases and 7,330 deaths have been reported in the country since March 11, 2020.

On Monday, 42,581 samples were studied to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, and a total of 9,466,241 real-time PCR tests have been made in Cuba so far.

Dr. Duran pointed out that 71,309 people are still in hospitals; 35,721 of them are suspected Covid-19 cases, 2,894 are under epidemiological surveillance, and 32,694 are active patients.
