A man wanted in connection with eight contract killings is among two shooters killed in a confrontation with the police in Duncans Pen, St Catherine on Monday night.
The police say Ashado McFarlane otherwise called ‘Boysie’ was wanted in connection with murders committed in Linstead, Bog Walk and Riversdale, St Catherine.
He was also wanted in connection with a murder in Ocho Rios, St Ann and was a person of interest in two other homicides, four cases of wounding with intent, one case of shooting with intent and several robberies.
McFarlane and another man identified as Jahmeele Omar Smith otherwise called ‘Blackman’ were killed during an intelligence-led operation by a team from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch.
The detectives were in Duncans Pen in connection with the investigation into the kidnapping and suspected murder of 29-year old restaurant supervisor, Kenroy McPherson.
According to the Corporate Communications Unit, the police moved to intercept a white Toyota Fielder motorcar in which the men were travelling when the occupants opened fire.
The police said they returned the fire killing McFarlane and Smith.
However, a third man escaped.
