A 37-year-old man of Goodwood, Tobago, was granted bail with a surety in the sum of $50,000 or a five thousand cash bail alternative when he appeared virtually before a Scarborough magistrate charged with one count of giving a minor alcohol.
The matter was adjourned to November 10.
A statement from Police Service said the man was arrested and charged on Monday following an investigation into a report that a 13-year-old female minor was seen behaving in an uncontrollable manner in the Moriah area.
WPC Procope-Myers of the Tobago Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) led the investigations and the child was taken to be examined medically. It was confirmed that the she was intoxicated.
Subsequently a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the man who was alleged to have given the child the alcohol.
Tobago Division Warrant Officer Cpl Caruth arrested the suspect who was handed over to officers of the Tobago Division CPU following which he was charged.
The investigation was headed by acting Supt George, acting ASP Sookdeo and supervised by Sgt Miller.
