Ecuador’s national soccer team has temporary losses today, as three players who tested positive for Covid-19 are in the required quarantine.

Enner Valencia, Alan Franco and Diego Palacios are the athletes infected with the respiratory disease, according to the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF).

The results were confirmed by PCR tests carried out on the entire team, within the framework of the Conmebol-FIFA Biosafety protocol for the Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. According to the information, those infected comply with the corresponding isolation, to guarantee their attention and to prevent new infections, so they will not be able to participate in the date of the South American Qualifiers, scheduled in this capital for November 17, against Colombia.

‘We will always be attentive to protect the health of our selected players to continue showing on the field the unbreakable spirit of unity and strength of La Tri,’ the FEF said.

For his part, the team’s doctor, Camilo Chiquito, stated in his Twitter account that after the check-up of the rest of the team, there are no more cases with the disease.
