Cuban health authorities on Tuesday reported 1,044 Covid-19 cases and two deaths due to complications related to the disease in the past 24 hours.
Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases in Cuba since March 2020 rose to 28,636 and the death toll increased to 218, Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), noted in his daily press conference on television.
The expert noted that 1,445 active patients are still hospitalized.
On Monday, 18,004 real time PCR tests were made nationwide to detect the coronavirus, thus the total number of samples taken since the outbreak of the pandemic in March last year rose to 1,922,930.
