Guyana records 24 more COVID cases

Twenty-four new COVID-19 cases were yesterday recorded.

This was revealed in the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard which showed that the new cases increased Guyana’s total number of positive confirmed cases to 7,678.

The new cases were confirmed after 220 more persons were tested for the virus, thus increasing the total number of persons tested to 50,372.

The new cases were recorded in six of the country’s ten administrative regions; one new case each in Regions One and Five, four new cases in Region Three, 8 in Region Four, six in Region Six and four new cases in Region Eight.

There are now 815 active cases in the country, 57 of which are in institutional isolation while the other 758 are in home isolation. Some five persons remain patients at the COVID-19 intensive Care Unit (ICU). The number of deaths in Guyana as a result of the virus remains at 176.
