Cuban health authorities today reported 580 new cases of Covid-19 and four deaths in the last 24 hours due to complications from this disease.
The Caribbean island thus accumulates a total of 244 deaths and 34,064 people diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the pathogen that causes this disease, since the beginning of the pandemic in national territory on March 11, 2020.
A total of 16,215 patients remain hospitalized, of which 3,158 are suspected, 7,986 are under surveillance and 5,71 are active with the coronavirus.
In a televised press briefing, the head of Epidemiology of the Public Health Ministry, Francisco Duran, explained that 19,322 samples were studied the day before for the detection of Covid-19 and a total of 2,049,702 real-time PCRs have been analyzed in Cuba
