Cuba on Thursday reported 816 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths over the last 24 hours, totaling 69,802 contagions and 408 deaths since the pandemic broke out a year ago.
Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), pointed out at his daily press conference on television that 20,573 people are in hospitals, 3,818 of whom are suspected cases, 13,421 are under epidemiological surveillance and 3,334 are still active patients.
On Wednesday, all molecular biology laboratories nationwide made 19,812 PCR tests in real time to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, totaling 2,863,218 samples so far.
