Guyana reports Two more die of COVID, 96 new cases reported

The Ministry of Health yesterday said that two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 227.

The latest fatalities are a female, age 30 and one male, age 78, both from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica). They died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility.

In addition to the deaths yesterday, 96 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded. Recent days have seen large numbers of new cases, underlining that precautions are not being taken by members of the public.

Thirteen persons are in the COVID ICU.
