Cuba confirms 2,403 new cases of Covid-19, 12 deaths

Cuba confirmed today two thousand 403 new cases of Covid-19 and 12 deaths in the last hours, which accumulates 1,231 deaths in the country due to that pandemic.

In a television press conference, the director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Durán, pointed out that in the Caribbean island a total of 179 thousand 656 people have been affected by this disease since March 11, 2020.

To date, 36 thousand 680 patients remain hospitalized, of which eight thousand 42 are suspects; 17,538 under surveillance and 11,100 active with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the pathogen that causes Covid-19, the specialist explained.

For the detection of the coronavirus, 36 thousand 608 samples were studied the day before and in Cuba they have analyzed a total of four million 983 thousand 124 tests.
