The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John Medical Centre has revealed fifty-eight (58) new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Tuesday 24th August 2021 at 6pm.
222 active cases
Nineteen (19) of these cases were recorded on August 23rd and thirty-nine (39) on August 24th.
The Epidemiology Unit is still in the process of ascertaining whether the cases are imported or non-imported. Once the information is verified, it will be published in a subsequent publication.
Two hundred and fifty-two (252) samples were processed at Sir Lester Bird MSJMC.
Twenty (20) recovered cases were recorded increasing the total to one thousand three hundred and thirty-three (1333).
Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one thousand five hundred and ninety-eight(1598); which is inclusive of two hundred and twenty-two (222) active cases. There are twenty-one (21) hospitalized cases; sixteen (16) mild, two (2) moderate and three (3) severe.
Meanwhile, Antigua and Barbuda has fully vaccinated thirty three thousand and ninety-four (33,094) individuals while six thousand seven hundred and fourteen (6,714) have only received their first dose.
