Cuba reports 1,241 Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths

Cuba on Friday reported 1,241 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths in the past 24 hours due to complications from the disease.

With a total number of cases at 99,208, Cuba will reach 100,000 cases with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the pandemic, in the next few days since March, 2020.

At his daily press briefing on television, the National Director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Duran, said that 569 people have died from this disease so far.

He added that 24,277 people are still in hospitals nationwide, including 3,538 who are suspected cases, 15,116 under epidemiological surveillance and 5,623 active patients.

On Thursday, 22,217 PCR tests in real time were made in all molecular biology laboratories in the country, totaling 3,473,135 such tests so far.
